A11y.ai launches an accessibility-focused LLM for automated design audits
AI · 4 min read
A11y.ai unveiled an accessibility-focused language model that ingests design files and audit requirements to produce prioritized remediation plans and example code snippets. The model checks color contrast, semantic labeling, keyboard navigation flows, and potential screen reader issues in both static files and interactive prototypes.
The tool generates actionable tickets for design and engineering teams and suggests corrected CSS/ARIA examples and copy edits to improve clarity. It also provides a confidence score and links to WCAG references so teams can trace recommendations back to formal guidelines.
Accessibility leads testing the model said it speeds up audits and surfaces edge cases that manual checks might miss, but they caution that automated audits should complement, not replace, manual assistive-technology testing. A11y.ai offers API access and integrates with Figma, Adobe, and common CI pipelines for continuous audits.
