Adobe Creative Cloud adds real-time collaboration for mixed-media timelines

The new collaborative timelines let multiple editors work in a shared project space with live cursors, conflict resolution, and granular lock controls for layers and sequences. Changes sync through Creative Cloud with perceptual diffing to help teams visualize edits and resolve merge conflicts.

Adobe also improved performance for cloud-based proxies and introduced scene-aware caching to reduce bandwidth during remote collaboration. Motion designers can now see updates from editors in near-real-time, reducing the need for sequential handoffs.

Studios lauded the change: post-production houses expect faster iteration cycles, and smaller teams can now co-author complex timelines without version chaos. Adobe added admin controls for storage, retention, and review workflows to align with studio pipelines.
