Adobe embeds Firefly into XD for collaborative, real-time generative layouts

Adobe has updated XD to include real-time Firefly-powered generation inside collaborative documents, enabling teams to iteratively produce layout variants, baked-in motion presets, and asset variations without leaving the canvas. Designers can now seed a layout and ask the AI to generate multiple responsive versions while teammates watch and annotate in real time.

The integration treats AI-generated layers as first-class collaborators; each suggestion appears as a separate version participants can accept, reject, or remix. Motion presets can be applied and previewed inline, with the underlying animation curves exported to Premiere or After Effects via a new motion handoff format.

Adobe says the goal is to cut the ideation-to-prototype gaps. The update also includes enterprise controls for content safety, model usage limits, and export auditing to address compliance concerns in regulated industries.
