Adobe Firefly 2.5 introduces layered PSD export and LLM-driven layout suggestions

Adobe released Firefly 2.5, which brings two features designers have requested: reliable layered PSD exports and Smart Layout—an LLM-driven assistant that proposes layout adjustments for multiple breakpoints. The layered exports preserve vector masks, text layers, and adjustment layers so files open more cleanly in Photoshop and Adobe XD.

Smart Layout analyzes a project’s visual hierarchy and suggests reflows, spacing changes, and alternative type scales while keeping assets intact. Adobe says the assistant was trained on a combination of internal style guides and licensed layout examples to reduce hallucinated design patterns.

Firefly 2.5 also includes workflow polish: a new assets panel with version history, tighter CC Libraries sync, and improved image prompting for product photography. Adobe is rolling the update out to Creative Cloud subscribers today, with enterprise customers offered admin controls for Smart Layout suggestions.
