Adobe Firefly 3 adds generative UI prototyping and parity with Figma plugin APIs
Design · 4 min read
Firefly 3's Generative Prototyping workspace lets designers input flows, constraints, and brand tokens; the model then produces wireframes, mid-fidelity screens, and interaction specs that can be previewed in the app. Generated prototypes include animated transitions and accessibility annotations (ARIA suggestions and color contrast checks).
Importantly, Adobe introduced a compatibility shim that runs many Figma plugins inside Firefly, easing cross-tool workflows for agencies and companies that maintain assets in both environments. The shim doesn't support every plugin but covers common tasks like icon import, token syncing, and handoff exports.
Adobe also emphasized enterprise features: design system governance for Firefly-generated assets, audit logs for AI suggestions, and exportable code snippets for React and SwiftUI that align with company component libraries. Early enterprise adopters noted faster cross-team handoffs and fewer reworks during design-to-dev transitions.
