Adobe Firefly 4 introduces real-time motion synthesis and 'direction personas'

Firefly 4 expands Adobe's generative toolset beyond static imagery: it now produces motion primitives for UI transitions such as parallax, micro-interactions and complex component states. Generated exports include keyframe islands that import into After Effects or Adobe XD with intact easing curves and timing metadata.

A notable addition is 'direction personas'—profiles that encode stylistic constraints like formal vs. playful copy, brisk vs. elegant timing for motion, and accessibility-focused animation parameters (reduced motion, contrast-aware transitions). Designers can apply personas at the project level to ensure consistency across outputs.

Adobe also improved model explainability by attaching short rationale notes to each generated asset, explaining choices for timing, ease curves and suggested accessibility adjustments. The company positions Firefly 4 as a bridge between generative creativity and production-ready motion assets.
