Adobe Firefly 4 updates: vector-aware generation and live component suggestions

Firefly 4 introduces a vector-native generation mode that outputs scalable SVG-like primitives, path data, and CSS-ready gradients. Designers can now generate assets that directly become editable vector components rather than flattened images, speeding up handoffs to development and design systems.
A new Live Component Suggestion engine watches designers' artboards and proposes reusable components, states, and tokens. Suggestions are offered inline and can be accepted into a team's design system with a single click, keeping style consistency high across large files.
Adobe also improved Firefly's prompt-to-caption alignment for accessibility, producing annotated alt-text drafts alongside generated visuals. The company plans deeper integrations with Adobe XD and CC Libraries so generated components sync across products.
Designers testing the beta noted improved final output quality but asked for more control over component naming and token mapping. Adobe said an SDK for custom naming conventions and enterprise governance will arrive in an update next month.
