Adobe Firefly 5 adds vector-aware generative editing and Sketch import
Design · 5 min read
Adobe released Firefly 5 with major improvements for vector designers. The model now performs vector-aware generative edits: prompts that alter shapes, stroke weight, or path curvature produce editable vector layers rather than flattened pixels.
Firefly 5 also adds a direct Sketch import and conversion pipeline, keeping symbols and artboards intact during migration. Adobe says this is a response to the large base of teams that still maintain Sketch assets but want Firefly's generative capabilities.
Additionally, Firefly 5 expands its brand safeguards, letting teams upload licensed brand assets and defining strict negative prompts so the generator avoids violating design guidelines. Adobe positioned this release as a pragmatic step for agencies and enterprise teams moving to AI-assisted vector-first workflows.
