Adobe Firefly Adds 'Design System Sync' and Improved Layout-Aware Image Filling

Design System Sync allows Firefly to ingest a company’s shared tokens, component library, and brand guidelines so generated imagery and text adhere to established rules. The integration supports token mapping, color spaces, and typography scales, enabling designers to produce brand-compliant variations with a single click.

The improved image filling uses layout-aware region selection and a new contextual inpainting model that respects alignment, negative space, and grid constraints. Firefly now recognizes gutters, baseline grids, and card containers, producing fills that maintain rhythm and typographic placement for both static and responsive assets.

Adobe also announced expanded collaboration features that push Firefly outputs directly into Adobe XD and Photoshop as named layers and token-bound elements. The company highlights enterprise governance controls to vet generated content and maintain IP and licensing compliance.
