Adobe Firefly adds vector generation and real-time collaboration features

Adobe's latest Firefly update focuses on bridging pixel-based generative imagery with vector-first design workflows. The new vector generator produces SVGs with editable paths, grouped layers, and named components suitable for immediate import into Illustrator and Figma. Adobe claims the vector output preserves editability and offers options for compression and precision control.
Alongside vector support, Firefly now includes a real-time collaboration layer that allows multiple designers to co-edit generative prompts and iterate on variations simultaneously. The system stores prompt histories and locks to prevent overwrite conflicts when teams generate assets for a shared library. Adobe integrated permissioned libraries and brand tokens so generated content adheres to enterprise style rules.
Design teams testing the features have praised reduced hand-tracing work and faster iterations from concept to production. Some users highlighted edge cases where complex logo geometry required manual clean-up, but most saw the update as a major step toward integrating generative tools into standard design pipelines. Adobe says it's expanding API access to allow third-party tools to call Firefly's vector engine programmatically.
