Adobe Firefly update adds vector export and Figma plugin integration
Design · 4 min read
The new Firefly release addresses one of the most persistent pain points for designers using generative imagery: translating raster outputs into editable vector assets. Adobe introduced a vectorizer tuned for icons, logos, and UI elements that preserves anchor points and layering semantics for direct import into Illustrator and Figma.
A companion Figma plugin enables two-way syncing so designers can push component libraries to Firefly for consistent brand outputs and pull back refined vectors with editable layer structures. Adobe also added a layer-aware prompt field so designers can direct generation at specific layers or components rather than the whole canvas.
Adobe framed the release as part of a broader strategy to embed generative capabilities into established creative workflows without replacing human control. The update is rolling out to Firefly Enterprise and Creative Cloud beta users this week, with wider availability in July.
