Adobe launches 'Design Copilot' beta inside Illustrator and XD

Design Copilot integrates across Adobe's desktop apps and offers contextual recommendations: it can propose grid adjustments, create responsive component variants, and suggest semantic naming for layers based on function. The assistant also flags potential accessibility issues and proposes fixes like improved contrast or label changes.
Adobe emphasized control and explainability: each suggestion is accompanied by a short rationale and links to the design token or guideline it references. Users can accept a single change, apply a pattern to multiple components, or generate a set of alternatives to choose from.
The beta will be available to Creative Cloud subscribers, with enterprise features that include tenant-level policy controls and the ability to fine-tune assistant behavior using a company's own design library. Adobe says it expects to add versioning hooks and audit logs for regulated industries later this year.
