Adobe launches FireBrush 2 inside Illustrator with generative layout and theme tools
Design · 6 min read
FireBrush 2 applies generative models to page composition, proposing grid variations, color systems and accessibility-improved type pairings based on a project's design tokens. Outputs are presented as nondestructive layers and suggestions so designers can accept or refine proposals.
Adobe claims improved determinism: the tool can reproduce a design exactly given the same seed and token set, which helps teams maintain consistency across brand assets. FireBrush 2 also includes a 'Variant Audit' panel that surfaces contrast ratios, spacing anomalies and token mismatches.
For teams, Adobe introduced collaboration workflows that map generative suggestions to versioned tokens in Creative Cloud Libraries. The result aims to close the loop between AI-assisted ideation and the governance designers need for brand compliance.
