Adobe Launches Generative Layouts Beta for XD and InDesign
Design · 5 min read
Generative Layouts uses a combination of Adobe's Sensei models and layout heuristics to propose multiple layout alternatives from simple prompts or existing content. Designers can ask for variations in tone (e.g., minimalist, energetic), hierarchy, or accessibility constraints and receive ready-to-edit artboards for both XD and InDesign.
The feature includes a new ‘layout brush’ that applies chosen structural patterns across pages and components while preserving brand tokens and grid systems. Adobe emphasizes that edits remain non-destructive and that designers retain full control over typography, spacing, and export settings.
Currently in an opt-in beta for Creative Cloud subscribers, Generative Layouts integrates with Adobe Fonts and Stock and follows Adobe’s stated policies for attribution and content filtering. Designers report early time savings in moodboarding and first-pass comp creation.
