Adobe launches Inclusive Design Toolkit for Spectrum with accessibility tokens and templates

On August 5, 2026 Adobe announced the Inclusive Design Toolkit for Spectrum, a free extension layered on top of its existing design system that centralizes accessibility tokens, pre-built UI patterns, and documentation for assistive technology compatibility. The toolkit introduces contrast-aware color tokens, semantic component variants, and motion-reduced patterns that can be toggled at the token level.

The kit includes templates for forms, navigation, and data-dense dashboards optimized for screen readers and keyboard navigation, plus downloadable JSON tokens for direct consumption in Figma, CSS-in-JS, and mobile platforms. Adobe also published compatibility notes for major assistive technologies and a migration guide for teams updating legacy components.

Adobe says the toolkit was developed with direct input from accessibility engineers and people with disabilities. The company emphasized interoperability: the tokens map to WCAG-recommended contrast thresholds and ARIA semantics, making it easier for teams to bake accessibility into design systems from the start.
