Adobe prototypes 'Context-Aware Prototyping' for XD Cloud: design-to-interaction mappings

Adobe's prototype uses a generative model to infer likely interactions from visual patterns — for example, converting a list with chevrons into an expandable accordion with motion specs. The tool suggests default easing, duration, and motion curves while offering designers editable presets.

Context-Aware Prototyping can also generate conditional states and edge-case flows like empty state screens and error modals, reducing the manual work of documenting interaction variants. Collaboration metadata is stored alongside the prototype, enabling handoff to engineers with linked motion tokens and code snippets.

Adobe says the preview will appear in the next XD Cloud beta and that it has invested in a human-in-the-loop workflow to minimize incorrect behavior proposals. Designers can accept, edit, or reject suggested interactions and the model learns from those choices over time.
