Adobe releases Firefly 3.0 with vector-aware generative fills
Design · 5 min read
Firefly 3.0 focuses on producing vector output that remains editable in Illustrator and other vector apps. Generated fills, strokes, and pattern tiles come as editable path data rather than flattened raster exports, improving workflow for print and UI design.
Adobe added brand safety features allowing companies to upload style guides and logo masters so Firefly adheres to brand rules during generation. The Illustrator plugin includes a 'variations' panel that surfaces multiple editable options with metadata about color usage and accessibility contrast.
Adobe also strengthened collaboration between Lightroom, Photoshop, and Illustrator so generated assets can be tuned across raster and vector contexts without losing layer structure. The company said Firefly 3.0 is rolling out to Creative Cloud enterprise customers first.
