Adobe ships Firefly Studio plugin to bring generative assets into XD and After Effects

Firefly Studio is positioned as a bridge between visual concepting and production: teams can generate backgrounds, hero imagery, and motion loops within XD and sync those assets to After Effects timelines with metadata intact. Adobe highlighted brand-safe presets that constrain outputs to approved palettes and style guides.

The plugin also bundles an asset audit panel showing source prompts, seed images, and licensing attribution so legal and marketing teams can track origin and usage rights. For motion assets, users can request variations and tweak easing curves directly from the generated clip panel.

Motion designers appreciated the speed of iterating on mood and tempo inside the same workspace but warned about over-reliance on synthetic imagery for campaigns that need human-crafted authenticity. Adobe said Firefly Studio will roll out to enterprise customers with admin controls in the next quarter.
