Adobe ships Illustrator VectorGPT plugin for iterative icon and system glyph creation

The Illustrator VectorGPT plugin enables designers to enter a textual brief, paste reference icons, or sketch rough shapes and receive multiple polished icon sets that adhere to a chosen visual language. Generated glyphs are fully editable vector paths so teams can iterate without recreating base art.

Adobe tuned the model to preserve stroke consistency, grid alignment, and optical balance across generated sets. The plugin also exposes tokenized parameters—stroke weight, cap style, and grid density—allowing batch adjustments across an icon library.

Adobe's ecosystem integrations let designers push generated icon sets to Creative Cloud Libraries and link them to components in XD or Figma via shared SVG exports. The company is adding usage telemetry to improve the model over time while offering opt-out for sensitive projects.
