Adobe unveils Firefly Studio: real-time vector generation inside Illustrator
Design ยท 4 min read
Adobe's Firefly Studio integrates the Firefly family into Illustrator to provide prompt-driven, sketch-to-vector conversion and editable SVGs. Designers can type a brief, scribble a rough shape, or import a raster and receive vector suggestions that preserve layers, paths, and anchor points.
A key differentiation is the emphasis on clean, semantic SVG output with named groups and accessibility attributes, rather than flattened rasterized results. Adobe also added revision history and a "componentize" toggle that converts AI output into reusable symbols tied to the user's design system.
Adobe says Firefly Studio is geared toward professional illustrators and UX teams who need high-quality vectors without losing manual control. The feature is rolling out to Creative Cloud subscribers this month with extended beta access for enterprise customers.
