Adobe updates Firefly with Vector Aware Generation and XD integration

Adobe announced enhancements to Firefly that make generated artwork more suitable for UI workflows. The Vector Aware Generation mode produces outputs in a structure optimized for vector conversion and preserves component-friendly layers, making generated icons and illustrations editable in Illustrator and XD.
The XD integration enables a one-click flow: generate an illustration or icon in Firefly, push it into an XD artboard as editable vector layers, and immediately wire it into prototype interactions. This eliminates the usual manual clean-up designers have to perform when moving raster AI outputs into scalable product assets.
Adobe also added an export preset for accessibility-friendly color palettes and a tokenized output format compatible with design systems. The company positions the update as a bridge between experimental generative output and production-quality design tokens and assets.
