Adobe updates Firefly with vector-aware diffusion and tokenized component export

Adobe announced that Firefly now supports vector-aware diffusion tailored to UI generation, enabling designers to generate crisp SVGs and component primitives directly from prompts or sketches. The system identifies elements like buttons, inputs, and icons, and outputs them as editable vectors.
Crucially for design ops, the update can tokenize generated outputs—creating spacing, color, and typography tokens that map to an existing design system. Teams can accept token suggestions and push them into shared libraries for consistent use across files and projects.
Adobe emphasized safeguards to prevent use of copyrighted design assets in training, and added provenance metadata to generated components. Some plugin developers expressed interest in bringing the feature into third-party tools via a new Firefly SDK.
