Adobe updates Firefly with vector-aware generation and Sketch import
Design · 5 min read
The new Firefly release bridges raster and vector worlds by recognizing component boundaries and path structures within generated outputs. Designers can now ask Firefly to produce icons, logos, or illustrations that maintain editable vector nodes and layer hierarchies, improving downstream iteration in Illustrator or Photoshop.
Adobe added first-class Sketch import to the Firefly ecosystem, letting teams bring legacy Sketch files into Firefly workflows. The import preserves symbols and spacing, and Firefly can propose refreshed color palettes and typography scales consistent with brand rules. This reduces friction for teams migrating documents across authoring tools.
Adobe also enhanced the Firefly API with versioning for creative generations and new guardrails for commercial use. The update targets agency and enterprise customers who need deterministic, production-ready vectors while keeping them within Adobe's ecosystem.
