Adobe updates XD interoperability: Figma import, prototyping exports and shared tokens

Adobe XD's latest release improves fidelity when importing Figma files, translating components, auto-layout, and nested instances into native XD counterparts. Shared token syncing now supports two-way updates with design system repositories, helping teams maintain consistent styles across tooling.

Prototyping exports have been enhanced to include embedded interactions and JSON-based runtime manifests for engineering. Designers can export interactive prototypes with a manifest that maps components to platform tokens, easing handoff to mobile and web teams.

XD also added governance features for large orgs: permissioned libraries, change logs for token updates, and a validator that flags component mismatches between design and runtime implementations.
