Adobe consolidated legacy XD workflows into Creative Cloud Canvas, bringing artboard handling, prototyping, and component libraries into a collaborative, cloud-first environment. Live collaboration supports simultaneous editing with presence indicators and comment threads.

Versioning now captures design checkpoints with branch-and-merge semantics to better support multiple design paths. Adobe also ensured popular XD plugins work in the new Canvas environment and published migration guides for teams.

Design leads can now govern libraries and permissions at organization level, making it easier to control reuse and ensure accessibility standards are enforced across projects. Adobe positions Canvas as the central hub for interface design in Creative Cloud.
