Adobe XD adds live token sync with Figma and design systems through new Delta API

Delta supports push/pull of color, spacing, and typographic tokens, and it exposes a change-set format that generative models can consume to ensure outputs are compliant. Adobe positioned the API as a bridge between disparate design authoring tools to reduce token drift.

The API supports conflict resolution heuristics and allows teams to lock critical tokens so models cannot override them during generation. It also logs token evolution, helping teams audit how auto-generated changes impact the design system.

Tool vendors welcomed the standardization, though some raised concerns about governance models for token merges. Adobe promised collaborative governance features and an open-spec documentation effort.
