Adobe XD Adds Prompt Blocks and Component-Aware Generative Assets
Design · 4 min read
XD's new prompt blocks attach to components and can be configured to produce state-aware variants, such as filled, hover or disabled styles, while honoring tokens like spacing, color and typography. Designers can generate multiple options and accept them as new variants in a single click.
Adobe also introduced a content provenance panel that records the prompt, model version and licensing metadata for each generated asset. This aims to simplify compliance for teams and maintain a clear audit trail for externally generated elements used in production designs.
The update is part of Adobe's larger push to align generative features with enterprise governance. Integration with Creative Cloud Libraries ensures generated components remain synced across projects and can be included in design system documentation automatically.
