Adobe XD beta integrates generative layout assistant 'Compose'
Design · 4 min read
Compose ingests user prompts, design tokens, and component libraries to propose multiple, editable layout options tailored to device breakpoints and accessibility constraints.
Adobe built Compose to respect locked design tokens and company libraries so generated layouts adhere to brand rules and component APIs. Users can accept, tweak, or remix suggestions while retaining version histories.
The beta integrates with cloud libraries and allows exporting generated layouts as shared components for engineering handoff. There’s also a focus on traceability: Compose generates a changelog of why each layout decision was made.
Adobe is inviting enterprise design teams to the beta and will expand Compose’s capabilities with feedback, including improved handling of complex data-driven screens and multi-language UIs.
