Adobe XD community plugin marketplace adds server-side model verification for assets

Under the new policy, plugin developers must provide verifiable metadata about the models they call, including checkpoint identifiers, licensing terms, and provenance traces for training data where available. Adobe will surface this information in the plugin listing and enforce rate limits to avoid abusive scraping of assets.

The marketplace also provides a verification badge for plugins that demonstrate compliant model handling and implement a content-similarity check to prevent reproducing copyrighted designs. Authors can submit their verification artifacts and receive expedited review if they meet the guidelines.

Adobe says the policy is intended to foster trust in the ecosystem and make it easier for designers to choose plugins aligned with their IP and compliance needs. Developers have mixed reactions: some appreciate clarity, others note additional engineering overhead.
