Adobe XD merges select Illustrator features and introduces cloud component libraries

The new XD release incorporates precision vector editing primitives from Illustrator—improved pen tools, path boolean ops, and variable stroke support—so UX designers can produce cleaner vector components without switching apps. Adobe said the merge was driven by user feedback to reduce context switching.

Cloud component libraries now support nested, token-driven variants with auto-layout behavior that adapts across breakpoints. Designers can publish component updates and roll them back, and teams get a component change feed with impact analysis highlighting which screens will be affected.

Adobe also improved collaboration workflows: live previews that sync faster to devices, and a comments-to-tasks flow that converts feedback into actionable tickets. The changes aim to make XD more compelling for end-to-end product teams.
