Adobe XD resurrected as 'XD Pro' with integrated LLM-driven pattern libraries

Adobe launched XD Pro, a next-generation take on its previous UX tool, with a heavy emphasis on LLM-generated pattern libraries. Designers can prompt for component families (forms, navs, cards) and receive multiple variants that respect specified tokens and interaction states. Generated components are versioned in a pattern library, and the LLM suggests best practices for states, spacing, and microinteractions.

XD Pro also includes a built-in 'prototype QA' assistant that runs automated checks for tap targets, contrast, and flow completeness before a prototype is exported. The assistant uses an LLM ensemble to recommend fixes and can auto-apply low-risk changes if opted in by the team. Collaboration tools allow product managers to annotate suggested components and push decisions back to the model.

Initial reactions highlight XD Pro's fast iteration loop for early-stage product experiments, especially for startups with limited design resources. Some enterprise designers pointed out limitations in nuanced brand typography and animations, which often require handcrafted work. Adobe said integration with Creative Cloud remains central, with forthcoming plugin APIs for third-party automation.
