Adobe XD revamp focuses on AI-guided accessibility and asset version branching
Design · 3 min read
Adobe announced a major refresh to XD that integrates AI into accessibility workflows and asset management. Designers can run an AI accessibility audit that flags issues and proposes fixes — from adjusting color contrast and spacing to generating explicit ARIA labels for components.
XD's new asset branching model lets teams create parallel visual experiments without overwriting a main library. Designers can produce multiple visual directions, test them in prototypes, and merge chosen elements back into the primary asset set with change logs retained.
Adobe says the AI recommendations are configurable and auditable, allowing teams to enforce accessibility policies and keep control over suggested edits. The company also added an API for partners to build automated accessibility checks and remediation plugins.
