Anthropic launches Claude 3 Designer with layout-aware reasoning
AI · 4 min read
Anthropic today introduced Claude 3 Designer, a specialization of Claude 3 optimized for layout reasoning and constraint-based UI generation. The model combines document and image understanding to interpret scribbles, wireframes, and style guides, returning structured Figma layers and accessibility annotations.
Claude 3 Designer supports constraint-aware editing: designers can specify invariant tokens (like spacing scales or color palettes) and the model respects those across changes, enabling safer automated refactors. The tool also offers a “policy layer” where teams can encode brand and legal constraints to avoid problematic suggestions.
Anthropic is positioning this release toward agencies and large product teams, offering collaborative audit logs and fine-tuning options. The company highlighted improvements in prompt efficiency and reduced hallucination around proprietary design system semantics.
