Anthropic announced Claude Architect, a 7 billion parameter multimodal model that runs locally on recent flagship phones and edge devices. The model supports text, image, and limited audio understanding, with a focus on privacy and low latency for common assistant tasks.

The company emphasized on-device safety controls and reduced server calls, letting apps process sensitive content without routing data to central servers. Developers can integrate Architect through a lightweight SDK that includes quantization tools and privacy-preserving prompt sanitizers.
