Anthropic unveils 'Claude Canvas' — a creative multimodal model tailored for designers
AI · 4 min read
Anthropic today introduced Claude Canvas, a new multimodal model family aimed specifically at product and visual designers. The model offers fine-grained control over style, layout, and accessibility constraints, and ships with an API that integrates directly into major design tools via plugins.
The release focuses on iterative workflows: designers can feed screens, brand assets, and copy constraints to Claude Canvas and receive multiple annotated variations, responsive prototypes, and accessibility reports. Built-in style tokens let teams lock brand characteristics like color palette, typography scale, and iconography while exploring design alternatives.
Anthropic also unveiled an official Figma plugin and an open-source Sketch connector that let designers call Claude Canvas from the editor and push back refined artboards. Pricing includes a developer tier with on-demand inference and an enterprise offering with dedicated instances and audit logs for governance.
