Apple Arcade introduces crossplay leaderboards and developer monetization tools
Gaming · 5 min read
Apple Arcade's latest SDK now supports crossplay leaderboards across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Vision platforms, with anti-cheat telemetry processed on-device and validated through ephemeral tokens. Developers can host seasonal leaderboards and combine leaderboards with in-game live events that trigger notifications and UI overlays.
The new monetization tools allow studios to add optional content bundles and event passes within Arcade titles, managed through a separate revenue-sharing tier. Apple says these options are curated and require approval, but they offer more predictable recurring revenue for ongoing live-service games.
To help teams adopt live features, Apple released sample server modules and a realtime event API that integrates with Game Center matchmaker. The company emphasizes that Arcade remains subscription-first for players while enabling developers to earn supplementary revenue from events and expansions.
