Apple Arcade introduces Live Ops SDK and visionOS controller frameworks for developers
Gaming · 4 min read
Apple Arcade’s Live Ops SDK allows publishers to schedule cross-platform events, seasonal content, and time-limited rewards that sync across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and visionOS. The SDK integrates server-synchronized event calendars, leaderboards, and analytics hooks designed to minimize battery and data use.
visionOS also got a set of controller frameworks aimed at both casual and competitive titles. The update includes standardized haptics, eye-gaze input blending, and passthrough-aware UI layers to simplify interaction design in mixed-reality spaces. Apple added sample scenes showing how to combine gaze, gesture, and traditional controller input.
For UX teams, the SDK release includes best-practice patterns for event notifications and retention-friendly reward pacing. Game studios say the tools reduce the engineering burden of running cross-device live events while retaining Apple’s platform expectations for performance and battery.
