Apple debuts Live Interface Kit for watchOS to speed up glanceable UX

Apple has introduced the Live Interface Kit for watchOS, a new design and developer framework that streamlines the creation of glanceable experiences on Apple Watch. The kit provides prebuilt, low-power components optimized for always-on displays and adaptive typography that scales across different case sizes.
Developers can now add richer complication interactions without sacrificing battery life thanks to a new event-driven rendering pipeline and a set of runtime constraints that limit GPU use during background updates. The kit also includes accessibility presets for VoiceOver and haptic feedback patterns tuned for short interactions.
Designers will find tokenized color and motion guidelines in the Live Interface Kit that align with watchOS Human Interface Guidelines, making it easier to keep interactions consistent across apps. Apple highlighted sample watch faces and a migration guide for existing complications during the rollout.
