Apple expands RealityKit with Vision Pro Spatial UI toolkit

At a developer preview on July 9, 2026, Apple released an expanded RealityKit that includes a spatial UI toolkit specifically built for Vision Pro and other spatial devices. The toolkit exposes high-level components such as anchored panels, contextual toolbars, and adaptive typography that automatically respond to depth and occlusion, simplifying common spatial interactions for teams.
The update emphasizes accessibility and consistency: components include voice and gesture affordances, automatic focus management, and a new set of spatial animation presets tuned to human depth perception. Designers will be able to preview interactions in a new Reality Canvas inside Xcode, with live sync to Vision Pro hardware for iterative testing.
For developers, Apple shipped sample projects and a migration guide from existing SceneKit and ARKit workflows. The RealityKit update also introduces performance profilers that map render cost to spatial layer complexity, helping multidisciplinary teams balance fidelity and battery life in production applications.
