Apple Expands SwiftUI for Vision Pro with Native Spatial Widgets

At WWDC 2026 Apple revealed an expanded SwiftUI toolkit tailored for the Vision Pro headset, including native spatial widgets designed to snap into physical space with minimal developer code.

The new layout primitives handle occlusion, depth-aware hit testing, and adaptive scaling so controls remain legible at varied distances. Apple also added a preview canvas that simulates room lighting and hand-tracking jitter.

Developers will find new templates for common MR patterns—floating panels, anchored information cards, and interacting with physical objects—plus performance improvements that reduce render latency. The update promises faster iteration between Mac prototypes and Vision Pro deployment.
