Apple expands Xcode Cloud with native SwiftUI preview playback and CI caching

Apple's latest Xcode Cloud update introduces native preview playback for SwiftUI views in the cloud, allowing designers and engineers to run interactive view sessions without launching a full simulator. Previews can now persist state snapshots and replay interactions, making collaboration on component behavior easier across distributed teams.

The update also brings an adaptive CI cache that recognizes compiled Swift modules and large asset catalogs, dramatically reducing rebuild times for subsequent builds on both local Apple silicon and cloud agents. Apple says teams will see incremental build time reductions of up to 40% on projects with heavy SwiftUI composition.

For design teams, the improved preview persistence means product designers can attach annotated sessions to tickets and handoffs, preserving the exact UI state. The update integrates with TestFlight builds and Xcode Cloud artifacts so QA and PMs can reference the same interactive preview during review cycles.
