Apple updates VisionOS with developer controls for spatial audio mixing

VisionOS now exposes an audio mixing API that enables per-source occlusion, dynamic reverb zones, and priority-based attenuation. Developers can anchor sound sources to virtual geometry and tune how surfaces reflect and absorb audio in a scene.

Apple included sample implementations for dialogue mixing and environmental FX, plus a visual debugger in the simulator to inspect audio rays and occlusion volumes. The update is especially targeted at entertainment, training, and simulation apps that require precise audio placement.

Privacy and performance were emphasized, with on-device audio DSP and power profiles for different headset modes. Apple also provided best practices for audio batching to keep CPU usage low during complex spatial scenes.
