Apple updates VisionOS with XRKit 3 and spatial audio composer for mixed-reality apps
Tech · 5 min read
XRKit 3 centralizes spatial audio authoring with a node-based composer that lets sound designers place acoustic sources in virtual scenes and preview Doppler and reverb in real runtime. Apple also released new APIs for predictive eye-tracking and foveated rendering that target better power efficiency on the Vision Pro family.
The hand-tracking updates include gesture macros and a new physics-aware collision system that reduces jitter and improves interaction with virtual objects. Apple emphasized developer tools to profile latency, thermal budget, and eye-tracking calibration within Xcode.
Apple also unveiled an enterprise distribution channel for VisionOS apps to simplify private deployments. The company did not announce new hardware but said the SDK enhancements prepare the platform for more interactive and acoustic-rich spatial experiences.
