Apple VisionOS 2.4 adds collaborative windows and UI hints for spatial apps

VisionOS 2.4 introduces shared windows that multiple nearby users can pin and manipulate in a synchronized spatial session. Apple’s APIs handle conflict resolution and ownership hand-offs, allowing collaborators to annotate and layer content without corrupting other users’ state.

Designers get new UI hint primitives — ephemeral hover guides, glance animations, and edge cues — aimed at helping users discover interactions in 3D space. Apple emphasized subtlety; the cues are tunable for comfort and accessibility, and they can be disabled by developers wanting a minimalist experience.

For enterprise customers, Apple has added session-joining tokens and deeper integration with managed devices, which simplifies hosting collaborative sessions in corporate environments. Early partner demos showed spatial whiteboarding, collaborative CAD viewing, and mixed-reality pair programming flows.
