Arcade Foundry secures $22M to launch Foundry Playtest, a user research toolkit for games
Gaming · 4 min read
Arcade Foundry announced a $22 million funding round and released Foundry Playtest, a toolkit for capturing, annotating, and analyzing playtest sessions across platforms. The system records player input, video, and contextual telemetry, then surfaces clips tied to user frustration or excitement moments for designers to review.
Foundry Playtest includes integrated recruiting, consent flows, and heatmap generation for level design analysis. The product is offered as a managed service with cloud storage and role-based access for design teams to collaborate on issue triage and iteration prioritization.
Game designers can link observed behaviors to design hypotheses and track the impact of changes across build iterations. Arcade Foundry plans to expand analytics features to include cohort comparison and long-term retention signals in future releases.
