Players of Arcadia's cooperative shooter reported information overload: health bars, teammate statuses, objective timers, and buff icons competed for attention during peak combat. Telemetry showed that players frequently missed critical status changes leading to avoidable deaths, and post-match surveys flagged HUD clutter as a top frustration.

The design team adopted three strategies: prioritize and layer information based on immediacy, shift noncritical data to contextual pop-ups, and add player-driven customization. For example, buffs that rarely affect decision-making were moved to an optional compact stack; critical alerts adopted color and motion-based cues; teammate revive prompts used edge-highlight animations to leverage peripheral vision.
