Arcadia Games raises $50M to build 'Nexus': a modular live-world toolkit for persistent games
Gaming · 6 min read
Nexus is designed to let teams stitch together persistent worlds with configurable rulesets, player-driven marketplaces, and real-time moderation hooks. Arcadia Games plans to offer Nexus as a managed service so studios can avoid bespoke backend complexity.
The Series A round was led by Horizon Interactive and will fund engineering and community operations. Arcadia says Nexus includes built-in telemetry for economy health, fraud detection, and automated fairness audits to help maintain balanced player experiences.
Arcadia emphasizes modularity: developers can choose core engine services or wire up bespoke components for unique game mechanics. The company also announced integrations with common client engines and identity providers for cross-platform play.
Industry observers note that the success of Nexus depends on its flexibility and cost model; Arcadia is pushing a consumption-based pricing tier aimed at mid-size studios that want live persistence without building from scratch.
