Arcadia Interactive launches LevelForge: AI-driven level design tool and raises $16M

LevelForge aims to help level designers rapidly iterate on layout ideas by converting textual briefs—like 'dense urban vertical map with stealth routes'—into playable test maps. The tool outputs prefabs and navmesh-ready geometry for immediate playtesting.

Arcadia’s $16 million round, led by Player Capital with contributions from a few indie publisher partners, will fund further AI model refinement, curated asset generation, and an asset marketplace for vetted user-created content.

LevelForge’s engine includes adjustable knobs for pacing, combat density, and exploration incentives. Designers can lock certain design constraints (e.g., 'no double-jumps') and the generator respects them during synthesis. The platform is currently integrated with Unity and has an Unreal plugin in development.

Arcadia emphasizes that LevelForge is a productivity tool for designers, not a replacement: generated levels act as starting points for human-driven iteration, letting teams test gameplay loops faster and balance encounters earlier in development cycles.
