AtlasNet Secures $85M to Build Global Edge for VR Social Apps and Releases SDK

AtlasNet's funding round was led by Nexus Growth and will be used to deploy edge nodes near major population centers, improve spatial audio routing, and offer enterprise SLAs for VR experiences. The SDK focuses on synchronizing persistent state and avatar replication.

The new SDK provides deterministic presence syncing, rollback-aware interactions, and features to reduce perceived latency through client-side prediction. AtlasNet also includes tools for avatar load balancing and dynamic interest management.

Studios building social VR and virtual events will be able to host thousands of concurrent users with consistent state across regions. AtlasNet promises reduced ghosting and jitter in large-scale rooms by offloading authoritative state to edge clusters.

With the capital, AtlasNet plans partnerships with headset manufacturers and content platforms, and will open a hosted console for managing world instances, telemetry, and moderation tools for community managers.
