Aurora Labs Raises $150M to Power Real-Time Video Editing AI

Aurora Labs, a San Francisco startup known for its generative video models, closed a $150 million Series C led by Meridian Capital with participation from media-focused investors. The round values the company at roughly $1.1 billion and will fund global scaling of its real-time editing infrastructure and content partnerships.

Alongside the funding, Aurora launched a public beta of Aurora Studio, a hybrid desktop and cloud editor that uses lightweight on-device inference for initial edits and cloud GPUs for high-quality final renders. The product promises automated scene segmentation, adaptive color grading, and motion-aware stabilization that edits footage in seconds rather than hours.

Design teams and content studios are already testing integrations with existing NLEs via Aurora’s plugin API. The company says monetization will include a subscription tier for creatives and revenue-sharing models for media partners who publish Aurora-optimized content.
